Runes are an ancient German alphabet, that was created a few centuries before the birth of Christ. The runic alphabet was not only a way to write words, it was made out of holy symbols, where each letter had a magic meaning. The sacred meaning of runes is imprinted in their titles: one of the meanings of the word “rune”-- secret. According to the legends, Odin, the god of all gods in Norse mythology, opened the runes’ sign’s meanings to people. Behind every sign and every combination, hides a variety of complex meanings and symbols that create an overall image of the world, the way Nordic philosophers imagined it before the emergence of Christianity. From ancient times, runes were used for fortune-telling and magic rituals.
